Great Bay Masters wrapped up a great season with a solid second place finish at Harvard. Here are the scores from the top five teams:

The team contest developed in an interesting way - GBM trailed Cambridge by only 1 point at the end of the day on Friday (465 to 464).The point spread expanded to 349 after Saturday's events. Sunday the Cambridge really opened it up, exploding to a 989 point victory.

GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS:

Great Bay Masters made a strong effort toward the New England Grand Championship this year. GBM started with a 997 point victory at Wheaton: a fantastic effort, especially considering how much further we had to travel compared with Cambridge. Great Bay had an outstanding effort in the Hour swim, with 105 swims, crushing our previous record of 62 swimmers. However, Cambridge raised the bar higher, setting a new record for themselves with 121 swimmers. After the Hour Swim our lead stood at 437 points. At the 25-yard championship Cambridge was too strong, fielding 101 swimmers and regaining their 25-yard title by 989 points, enough to put them over the top to a Grand Championship victory.

This season was a lot of fun, and we made a great effort. Thanks to everyone who contributed.
